Cala Deià is a pretty little rocky cove with transparent water located near the village of Deià, in the northwestern part of Mallorca, and a must-see for anyone visiting the Serra de Tramuntana. Although the beach is only 70 metres long, its large rocks offer the possibility of a good dip in the warm months.
Its transparent waters show a varied range of bluish-green colours at the bottom. The cove is surrounded by steep mountains. As we approach the beach, we can see small fishing boats, a few stone cottages and, finally, two fish restaurants perched on the rocks by the sea.
This beautiful rocky cove, located 10 kilometres from Sóller, is one of the very few coves on the whole of Mallorca’s west coast. Its beach has no sand, but small river-like rocks, because it is located at the mouth of a small torrent. Access to the cove is through a small, singular forest along the banks of the torrent until it flows into the sea. The old wooden fishing boats give the cove the appearance of a postcard for posterity.
